We have so much to appreciate today in the natural resources available from the environment, especially now that they work to add to renewable energy. Knowing that solar and wind are quite common energy resources, there are more needed to help on the shady days and in the areas where the wind is not so common.
With a great number of renewable energy goals having been set around the world, there is much to be said for the addition of new resources. While these two key resources may continue to be the ones bringing in both solar and wind energy, there is a need for the development of systems that will help with the long-term management of the power generated.
Considering the panels placed atop many homes and other buildings, or in the energy farms built for the power generation in small areas, there is much more to gain from the ability to save some of this power. For those days where there is not so much sun or wind, there is the need to access the power that was previously created. One of the most recently built systems for this is battery storage. In a similar manner to batteries that we use for tools and other machines, these are able to store the solar and wind power that is generated from the earth. Therefore, it works in the same way that the power grid working from our current reliance upon fossil fuels to consistently supply power to homes and other buildings across a larger region. There would not necessarily be the need for each and every home to purchase and install solar panels to their home.
Added to this, these battery storage systems are able to work off of more sustainable materials, without the need for fossil fuels as we so often require right now. Pistons and pumps that are able to process and store the power work off of water and natural chemicals that do no harm the environment as oils currently do. In the long-term, this would also help to move the work of the electric car forward to the complete removal of fossil fuels from the power system. We would no longer be powering those ever-so-environmentally-helpful electric cars from the electricity generated from fossil fuels. As I have recently heard that we will need some drastic action taken over the next decade or two in order to prevent another degree of increase in global warming, every possible effort to take these steps should be made ASAP.
