Anyone Else Questioning Their Faith in America?

I know that we have a nation where so many immigrants desire to come. We are known for having freedom and independence for all, welcoming to individuals from all over the world. But, so much has changed over the past 4 years. And there is only one reason.

I believe that there is a part of me that has become somewhat addicted to the news and everything that happens from day to day. Politics was never something that flooded my mind so much, but it is now such a damaging storm to the quality of our nation.

How can we love the idea of being Americans when we have become the laughing stock of the world? It is clear that we are no longer the leader of the free world, and it is our own “leader” who has brought such shame to the image of our nation.

We can definitely apply the experience of the Coronavirus to the top of the list, while there are so many other erratic responses taken by this president. Lashing out at everyone in his path, dividing the nation so completely, there is so much left to correct. It breaks my heart more and more every day.

Knowing that there was a bizarre plot to kidnap the governor of Michigan and overthrow the state government is just one more nationwide event that leaves me baffled. Thinking back to the presidential debate a couple of weeks ago and Trump’s refusal to speak out against White Supremacy, there is something even worse about this. He now has yet to say a single word in response to all of these extremely horrible events. Nothing in support or protection of another member of the American government. Broken. Pathetic.

So, what do we have left but an election? I know that there are so many other things to expect in the next few days, like an infected president hell bent to launch out on the campaign trail at the risk of infecting thousands of others with the disease. Is there more? What will we see? How ridiculous will it become?
